Association Overview

Council of International Turbomachinery R&D, Economy and Trade, CITRE

CITRE is a non-profit, unincorporated industrial cooperation platform. It is jointly established by legitimate entities across the global turbomachinery industrial chain, including industrial institutions, universities, research institutes, original equipment manufacturers, core component and supporting material suppliers, as well as design institutes and engineering, procurement and construction (EPC) contractors, on the principles of voluntariness, equality and collaboration.

Based on China’s 15th Five-Year Plan and in response to global industrial transformation, the Consortium focuses on three core directions: breakthroughs in green and low-carbon technological innovation, intelligent and digital upgrading, and global strategic layout. By building an efficient coordination mechanism of "Government-Industry-University-Research-Finance-Service-Application", it promotes the transformation of the industry from "scale expansion" to "leadership by technical standards and output of full industrial chain services", and accelerates the green and low-carbon transition of the global energy system.

Relying on China’s strong turbomachinery manufacturing cluster advantages, the Consortium is committed to building an open, inclusive and collaborative industrial ecosystem. It deeply integrates upstream and downstream full industrial chain resources of turbomachinery products such as gas turbines, aero-engines, steam turbines, compressors, expanders, blowers, turbochargers, refrigeration and air conditioning (including refrigeration compressors and air conditioning fans), pumps and water turbines. The Consortium actively connects global cutting-edge technologies, top talents and global market resources, aiming to achieve efficient global allocation and complementary advantages of technology, production, capital and markets, break down industrial barriers, and build an interdisciplinary, cross-industry and cross-border community for industrial innovation and economic and trade cooperation.

Faced with the current challenges of homogeneous competition and low-price competition among domestic turbomachinery enterprises, the Consortium takes “Embracing Transformation, Breaking Through for Symbiotic Growth” as its guiding principle. It focuses on the pain points of enterprises going global, addresses key issues including technical barriers, standard differences, and brand recognition, and builds a full-chain service system to support international expansion. This helps its members build sustainable, profitable, and replicable global competitiveness. The Consortium actively connects with international end-users, overseas engineering companies, and energy & power markets. It drives enterprises to upgrade from single-equipment suppliers to comprehensive solution providers offering products plus integrated services. This enables high-quality Chinese turbomachinery equipment and technologies to reach global markets efficiently, allows overseas markets to steadily benefit from China’s supply chain advantages, cultivates more globally competitive turbomachinery enterprises, and promotes win-win collaboration and shared prosperity across the global industry.

We sincerely invite global industrial colleagues, experts, scholars and ecological partners from the industrial chain to join the Consortium! Let us work together to build this open, collaborative and innovative industrial platform, explore new paths for the green, low-carbon, safe, efficient and sustainable development of the global turbomachinery industry, and share the fruits of industrial prosperity.
