2026-04-27
On April 25, the Wenzhou LNG Terminal under Zhejiang Energy Group (Zheneng Group) successfully welcomed the first LNG shipment delivered under the long-term cooperation agreement with bp.
The arrived LNG originates from Central America, further diversifying Zheneng Group’s LNG resource portfolio and strengthening its resilience amid shifts in the global energy supply landscape. It also provides solid support for ensuring the stable operation of the provincial energy market. Liu Shenghui, Secretary of the Party Committee and Chairman of Zheneng Group, and Wu Yue, President of Global Gas & Voluntary Carbon Markets at bp, jointly witnessed the vessel’s berthing and unloading.
In May 2025, Zheneng Group signed a long-term LNG sales and purchase agreement with bp. Under the deal, bp will supply liquefied natural gas to Zheneng Group for a 10-year period, sourced from its diversified global LNG reserves. This latest delivery marks the official launch of shipment fulfillment under the long-term contract.
The LNG supply and sales framework established through the long-term partnership embodies the two parties’ shared commitment to energy security and market stability. Both sides will further deepen cooperation in the energy sector, pursue mutually beneficial development, and contribute to the consistent and reliable supply of natural gas in the local region.
