2021-10-18
On December 18, as Hainan Free Trade Port officially launched its island-wide customs closure operation, Siemens Energy held a groundbreaking ceremony for its gas turbine assembly base and service center in Danzhou, Hainan Province. At the same time, Siemens Energy (Hainan) Co., Ltd. was formally established.
As Siemens Energy’s first gas turbine final assembly and service center in China, the base will build a comprehensive business system integrating final assembly, local application verification, spare parts support, and operation and maintenance services. This will further enhance Siemens Energy’s global gas turbine assembly and service network to meet the growing demand for gas-fired power generation equipment in China and overseas markets.
The Siemens Energy Hainan Gas Turbine Assembly Base and Service Center is scheduled to be completed and put into operation in 2027.Joern Schmuecker, Senior Vice President of Siemens Energy Gas Power Global, stated that the construction of the gas turbine assembly base and service center in Hainan aligns closely with Hainan Free Trade Port’s goal of building a high-level open economy. Hainan is currently accelerating the development of a clean energy island. As an important flexible power source in the power system, gas-fired power generation plays a key role in supporting the integration of high-penetration renewable energy and ensuring grid stability.Leveraging a sound local supply chain and advanced manufacturing and integrated operational capabilities, the Siemens Energy Hainan Gas Turbine Assembly Base and Service Center will shorten equipment delivery cycles, improve the execution efficiency of gas-fired power projects, and enhance service response speed.
